Our First Podcast

This week we're going to be working on creating our first podcast. I chose to do mine with my favorite Apple Crisp recipe, which I've adapted from the original recipe that used fresh peaches, and ginger. I've changed mine to have a little extra crumble crust, white sugar, cinnamon, and lots of Granny Smith apples. The program we  learned about in class, and the one we're going to be using, is Audacity. This is the link for the Audacity Manual & Tutorial:

I think working with this new program, will be very interesting and lots of fun.

Podcasting

This week we've been learning about Podcasting. First we reviewed two podcasts; I chose my two from http://www.ipodder.org/. Then we decided who our podcast audience would be, by answering a few simple questions. This assignment is going to be fun!

Instant Messaging

This week we learned about instant messaging, and then created a reference manual. Some of us already knew about some instant messaging sites, or what's called social websites. We had a lot of fun with it.

Continuing With Futuremaker Video

Last week we didn't have class, so we continued to work on our futuremaker videos. I had thought mine was close to being done, and then realized that it needed a little more added. I need to get a fresh photo of MSTC, and will do that tomorrow.

We've been learning so much, and making this futuremaker video takes up a lot of time & effort put into it. I'm excited to be working on it, and at the same time I'm a little nervous about how it will be received. There is more I need to do with it, before its due date this Wednesday, October 16. Each movie I make in Windows Movie Maker is special to me, and I put a lot of hard work in the editing part of it, to make it appear the best.

Editing Digital Photos

Week 5 we learned about editing photos using Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Learning how to edit photos, was very interesting and gave a unique look to the photos I chose to edit. They were fun to do. This class is getting more fun each week.

This week we presented the photos for the Digital Photos assignment. I didn't have mine done at the time, but did have some pictures I was thinking of using. When I went to finish the assignment, I ended up using a few different photos, which were fun to work with. We also talked a little about wikis, and the trouble some of us were having. We talked about next weeks assignment, which is to edit any four photos using Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I am looking forward to doing this one too.

This Week In Digital Land

This week in class we learned how the camera and taking photos evolved. We also learned about the "Rule of Thirds", where you move the subject to either the left or right of center. We got the chance to create our first wiki, which has been an experience for many in the class. With our assignments, we got to take photos using what we learned, and started our own wikis. For many of us, it was the first time we'd created a wiki.

Experimenting with new technologies can be difficult at times, but gets easier the more we work with it.

This short video shows how the Rule of Thirds is used, by John Woodward. It is called Photographer John Woodward Composition.
